Our founder, Fr. Michael J. McGivney, started with 12 men in the basement of St. Mary's Parish in New Haven, Connecticut as a benevolent society for the widows and orphans there in 1882.

Could he have envisioned what has become of his dream? Currently we have more members, more active councils, who have donated more money and time than ever before to our parishes and community.

Could he have envisoned a financial pillar of strength that the Knights of
Columbus insurance has become? We continue to be second to none in the
industry.
